Do You Need to Upgrade Your Electrical Panel?

How old is your home?  The standard for residential power in the Charlotte metro area was once just 30-60 amps. Fast-forward to 2021, and modern homes frequently require 200 amps or more to power newer 240V appliances, your hot water heater, central air conditioning, computer equipment, flat panel TVs, lighting, electric heat, pumps, motors and more.

Your old electrical panel might not be able to handle the electrical demands, which puts your house at risk.

Here are a few critically important questions to address:

·Is your home 30+ years old?

·Do your lights ever flicker or dim?

·Do your breakers frequently trip when using several electrical devices at the same time?

·Is your electric panel full, without room for new or larger circuit updates?

·Does your electric panel or meter socket look rusty?

·Do you smell burning or see scorch marks on any receptacles?

·Is the electric cable on the outside of your house badly weathered?

If you answered yes to any of these questions and live in Charlotte Metro, it’s probably time to upgrade or replace your panel.
